InfoWatch Joins Big Data’s Big Trends
This year's event hosted by Forbes Middle East in Dubai was to explore how big data could disrupt business. The conference brought together some 200 IT experts, business leaders, and innovators from the Middle East and international organizations, including representatives of the region's largest technology companies – GBM, Schneider Electric, Oracle, SAP, SAS, and Microsoft – speaking of challenges and opportunities they face when collecting and using big data.
Specifics of Doing Business in the Middle East
Kristina Tantsyura, Director for Business Development in the Middle East at InfoWatch Group and CEO of InfoWatch Gulf, gave a talk to Russian companies on the specifics of entering and doing business in UAE and Middle East markets.  The event was held at the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and attended by representatives of 40+ businesses that participate in the Ministry’s top-priority project ‘Support of Leading High-Tech Companies’ (also known as ‘National Champions’) and members of Software Developers Association ‘Domestic Software’.
InfoWatch Academy Programs to be Unveiled for Middle East
InfoWatch Group, a Russian vendor of end-to-end enterprise cybersecurity solutions, is going to take part in the Gulf Information Security Expo & Conference (GISEC) to be held in Dubai (UAE) on April 1-3, 2019. InfoWatch experts will demonstrate the company’s solutions for enterprise cybersecurity and programs of InfoWatch Academy, an international training center for digital technology and cybersecurity in the Middle East.
InfoWatch Group Strengthens Cybersecurity Ties with Egypt
Natalya Kaspersky, President of InfoWatch Group, a Russian vendor of end-to-end enterprise cybersecurity solutions, has visited Cairo as part of the delegation of Russian IT companies headed by Konstantin Noskov, Russian Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media. InfoWatch President took part in the round table for Russian and Egyptian companies at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of Egypt and the bilateral session on information security.
InfoWatch Gulf Awards Dubai Police Cyber Challenge Winners
InfoWatch Gulf, InfoWatch Group’s Middle Eastern office, has become a partner of Dubai Police’s Capture the Flag (CTF) challenge aimed to raise cyber threat awareness and promote cybersecurity among school and university students. Kristina Tantsyura, CEO of InfoWatch Gulf, presented the company’s special prize to CTF winner Youssef Awad. The Dubai Police event attracted more than 50 young IT specialists from 12 countries, with the three winners being awarded AED 20,000, AED 10,000, and AED 5,000.
InfoWatch Gulf CEO Joins Russian Delegation at World Govt Summit
Kristina Tantsyura, Director for Business Development in the Middle East, InfoWatch Group, joined the Russian delegation headed by Mikhail Mamonov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, at the World Government Summit. The InfoWatch's representative participated in the meetings with Haytham AlOhali, Vice Minister at Ministry of Communications & Information Technology of Saudi Arabia, and H. E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of the UAE’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA). 
InfoWatch Gulf's Cybersecurity Day at Heriot-Watt Univ. in Dubai
InfoWatch Gulf, InfoWatch Group’s Middle Eastern office, has organized Cybersecurity Awareness Day at Heriot-Watt University campus in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Kristina Tantsyura, CEO of InfoWatch Gulf, together with the company’s specialists, delivered lectures on information security, digital hygiene, safe behavior on social media, and EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements.
Global Data Breach Penalties Go Up Seven-Fold
InfoWatch Analytics Center has released a global report on personal and payment data breach penalties imposed on government organizations and businesses. Globally, both the number and size of such penalties are growing, with 57 fines being imposed on businesses for a total of over $320 million in 2018 (compared to some $45 million paid in 39 such cases in 2017). Thus, the year 2018 saw more than a seven-fold increase in the global amount of fines for personal and payment data breaches and a five-fold growth in an average pay-out (up to $5.7 million).
Retail & HoReCa Mostly Exposed to Payment Data Leaks Globally
InfoWatch Analytics Center has released the first global report on confidential information leaks from Retail & HoReCa companies. Following the analysis of over 300 incidents that occurred in 2016-2017, InfoWatch experts found out that more than 100 million data records were compromised in these sectors, with the number of payment data breaches soaring in 2017 to reach 60% (vs. 40% in 2016) — the highest share of financial data leaks among all sectors in the world.
