InfoWatch, a provider of data protection systems, announces a release of Version 3.2 of the InfoWatch Traffic Monitor product. The version comprises the functionality which offers more protection of corporate confidential information.
The main innovation of Version 3.2 is the technology for intercepting a traffic copy on active network equipment. This technology minimizes the impact of monitoring on the network infrastructure and consequently, on the main business processes of a company. This technology allows making a copy of all traffic and analyzing it for the presence of confidential data.
Another innovation of InfoWatch Traffic Monitor 3.2 is the function of centralized storage and processing of data which is designed for geographically distributed companies. The central data storage is located in headquarters and data security officer can control and analyze all operations on confidential data in all branch offices of the company. Moreover, Traffic Monitor interceptor can transmit information from a remote server of a branch office to the central database using a low capacity channel (from 128kbps). The data can be transmitted at any time, for example, when the network loading is low.
Besides, Traffic Monitor 3.2 offers a modified archiving process for outdated data. The archiving is used to reduce the amount of information which is stored on the analysis and processing server to the lowest required. It also saves the data processing time due to the increased response speed of Traffic Monitor Server to the users’ search requests. After archiving, the data is transmitted to an external archive repository. If necessary, the data can be restored from the archive and analyzed retrospectively (for example, while investigating security incidents).
InfoWatch Traffic Monitor 3.2 is a new generation of solutions for protecting corporate confidential data. InfoWatch Traffic Monitor represents a special monitoring and audit system which detects and prevents transmission of confidential data outside the corporate network using e-mail, instant messaging services (internet pagers of an ICQ type) and through the Web (web mail, forums, chats, etc.) as well as making copies of the data on removable media and printing.
InfoWatch Traffic Monitor includes a highly capacious universal archive for storing all data transmitted by a user via e-mail or Internet and also the data about operations on the confidential data made directly on workstations. This archive can be used for retrospective analysis when investigating security incidents and also when checking whether the corporate information security system meets Russian and international regulations and standards.
