On November 29, 2007 Kaspersky Lab, principal shareholder of InfoWatch, announced the appointment of Natalya Kaspersky as CEO of the company. She will replace Evgeny Preobrazhensky who headed the company since 2004.
As a result of the meeting of shareholders the company conducted additional issue of shares to attract new investments. Natalya Kaspersky acted as a strategic investor and will hold the controlling stake of InfoWatch. Kaspersky Lab reserves the blocking stake.
“The main objective of attracting new investments and appointment of Natalya Kaspersky as CEO of InfoWatch is further development of the company and strengthening of its positions abroad,” said Eugene Kaspersky, Director General of Kaspersky Lab. “I am sure that owing to Natalya Kaspersky’s unique experience InfoWatch will become another bright Russian brand in the world market.”
“Products of InfoWatch have been sold only in the Russian market so far,” said Natalya Kaspersky, Director General of InfoWatch. “I set a mission to lead the company into the world orbit. The company has interesting technologies and products which are well demanded in the world market. I believe we have wonderful possibilities.”
About Natalya KasperskyNatalya Kaspersky is a shareholder and one of the originators of the company. In 1989 Natalya Kaspersky graduated from the Moscow Institute of Electronic Engineering with a degree in applied mathematics. After graduation she worked as a research assistant at the Central Scientific Design Office. In 1994 Natalya started working at KAMI Information Technologies Center where she was involved in managing an antivirus project, AVP. Natalya co-founded Kaspersky Lab in 1997, and in the same year became the company's CEO. For more than a decade Natalya has been an irreplaceable leader of the company.
