InfoWatch Traffic Monitor Prevents Data Leaks in Cisco UCM

InfoWatch Group, a Russian vendor of end-to-end enterprise cybersecurity solutions, has unveiled an integration adapter designed to control data transmission within Cisco Unified Communications Manager (Cisco UCM), an enterprise UC platform.

InfoWatch Cisco UCM Adapter is connected to Cisco UCM database to intercept text documents, spreadsheets, images, and other attachments and then submit them for analysis to InfoWatch Traffic Monitor, a system protecting enterprises against confidential data leaks and internal threats.

The solution detects illegal actions, such as malicious staff communications or transfer of confidential files or text fragments, and alerts a security officer to security breach. All events are stored in a single database of InfoWatch Traffic Monitor that is used during incident investigations.

Corporate messengers are becoming more and more popular and often turn out to be the primary communication and data exchange channel within an enterprise,” said Marina Batalova, Product Development Manager, InfoWatch Group. “Employees use them to transmit sensitive information, discuss important tasks, projects, and pressing issues; therefore, this channel needs to be carefully monitored for data leaks and other risks related to staff misconduct. The integration of Cisco UCM with InfoWatch Traffic Monitor helps improve overall in-house security and reduce the risk of employee fraud.
