InfoWatch, Р В° leading developer of internal information monitoring and protection solutions, announces the availability of its new software product InfoWatch Traffic Monitor Autolinguist. The product is complimentary for InfoWatch comprehensive internal data protection solution InfoWatch Traffic Monitor Enterprise and allows automatic creation of customer- specific content filtering base to more efficiently detect sensitive data in outgoing corporate traffic.
To identify sensitive data in corporate information flow InfoWatch Traffic Monitor uses several analysis technologies, including unique InfoWatch-optimized linguistic analysis technology. Linguistic analysis technology is applied for automatic detection of information category and confidentiality level based on terms and their combinations in the analyzed document. Linguistic analysis is performed based on the previously created content filtering base.
The content filtering base describes the corporate information categories and considers multiple data confidentiality attributes, including business field specifics, corporate information security requirements, etc. After linguistic analysis the information is assigned a category reflecting its subject. The analyzed information can include terms and expressions from several categories, that’s why it can be assigned several categories from the content filtering base. The content filtering base is crucial for precise information categorization.
InfoWatch Traffic Monitor Enterprise is supplied with a pre-installed standard content filtering base, containing basic categories and terms, so that companies can start using the solution right after implementation. However content filtering base adaptation for a specific vertical market or specific company significantly increases categorization granularity. To let the companies quickly adapt the standard content filtering base for their needs and increase detection reliability InfoWatch has developed InfoWatch Autolinguist. The product allows the companies to independently customize and update the content filtering base, eliminating the need for 3rd party specialists to access their sensitive data which may be crucial for companies working with classified information.
Natalya Kaspersky, CEO of InfoWatch: ”The content filtering base, adapted for the needs of a specific industry, contains approximately 80% of categories, relevant for all companies in this market-segment. The remaining 20% are categories relevant for a specific company. Before InfoWatch Autolinguist launch, our specialists had to customize the content filtering base for a specific company manually, which meant additional expenses for the customers and sometimes caused security concerns. Now with the launch of this product the content filtering base adaptation can be done by the customer automatically in a few minutes”.
InfoWatch has lately announced a significant expansion of the content filtering database. The new version of database operates categories and terms both of corporate and government level, such as compliance with law enforcement to combat extremism and corrupt activities, to counter the spread of drugs, pornography, etc.
To create a specific content filtering base with InfoWatch Autolinguist, the customer needs only to collect the input documents, sort them out (for example, financial or legal documents) and load them into the software. The product automatically extracts terms and expressions that will be further used for information categorization. InfoWatch Autolinguist output is a compiled content filtering base that includes company-specific categories and terms, ready to be used inside InfoWatch Traffic Monitor for linguistic analysis.
InfoWatch Autolinguist also significantly simplifies the process of corporate content filtering base update: to do so, the customer needs to load new documents into the software. The newly detected categories and terms will be added to the content filtering base.
