InfoWatch, a leading Russian developer of internal threat protection systems announces the release of version 3.1 of its flagship product InfoWatch Traffic Monitor. The new product supports Oracle 11g, the latest version of Oracle’s database, and includes a new feature to intercept and filter Lotus Notes messages.
InfoWatch Traffic Monitor 3.1 (IW TM 3.1) now incorporates preferences specified by previous version users for the product database and management console. In order to ensure greater data confidentiality within a corporate environment, the product supports responsibility zone delimitation within the IT-security department, i.e., departmental employees have varying levels of access to different data objects. Moreover, the solution has been upgraded with a full-text search using masks and partitioning (DB sectioning) to simplify searches for and operations with intercepted objects in the database.
Changes have been made to the solution’s management console: a statistical report option has been added that uses ready-made templates with different filter options (by date, employee, department, etc.). The solution can now save different versions of the system behavior rules (the function allows changes to be saved and can be rolled back to a previous configuration in the event of a failure). IW TM 3.1 also offers unified user identification through Microsoft Active Directory via the main protection channels.
The most important innovative feature of IW TM 3.1 is the interception and filtering of Lotus Notes traffic using the formal attributes of the intercepted object and a content analysis of attachments and message body. IBM Lotus Notes/Domino is a popular platform among Russian companies for building automated management applications and document flow processes. By implementing support for Lotus Notes, InfoWatch has taken a significant step towards addressing customer requirements.
Rustem Khayretdinov, InfoWatch’s Deputy Director General, commented: “We are grateful to our customers for their comments which allowed us to develop a user-oriented product, a product intended for an information security officer. Without their feedback it would have been much more difficult to develop the solution and, to be honest, we did not expect our customers to be so active. We are grateful for their contribution; together we have created a really stunning product. Besides the customer requirements, the new version also meets regulatory requirements. The control and analysis modules have been updated significantly with regards to Russian laws and standards. In the near future we intend to confirm our compliance with Russian laws and standards with the appropriate certificates."
InfoWatch Traffic Monitor includes the InfoWatch Device Monitor module. The solution controls confidential data copying to removable media (floppy, CD/DVD, external USB disks or external devices connected over different ports — USB, LPT, COM). The InfoWatch product suite also includes InfoWatch Enterprise Solution – an integrated solution to control and audit confidential data in an enterprise’s internal and external communications.
