InfoWatch, the developer of security systems to protect confidential information from insiders, has announced that the Russian Federal Service for Technical and Export Control has awarded it an FSTEK certificate. It allows the company to apply its solutions on networks containing state information categorised as state secrets.
The certificate (Р Р†„–1151 dated 21.02.2006) states that InfoWatch Net Monitor (a system controlling operations carried out at work stations) tested successfully for compliance with the requirements of the document entitled “Safeguards against unsanctioned access to information. Part 1. Software for protecting information. Third classification level of control in the absence of undeclared capabilities." That means the solution can be used in class 1B protection systems without reducing their level of protection.
The certificate also states:
The conditions and organisation of InfoWatch Net Monitor's production comply with the requirements of the relevant normative documents; The research and design documentation of InfoWatch Net Monitor comply with the requirements of the relevant normative documents; The material and technical basis of the company satisfy the demands for the design, development and large-scale production of InfoWatch Net Monitor; The production technology of InfoWatch Net Monitor ensures the necessary stability of its parameters; The quality assurance system provides the necessary level of quality and invariability of the certified parameters during large-scale production of InfoWatch Net Monitor; InfoWatch Net Monitor after-sales services are documented correctly and stipulate the responsibilities of the manufaturer.The certificate gives InfoWatch the opportunity to actively work with state organisations on networks handling information classified as state secrets. In conjunction with the necessary licences for the development of protection measures and the accompanying services, the award of the certificate opens up new business perspectives for the company.
