InfoWatch launches operations in German-speaking countries: Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Moscow, February 14th, 2007 – InfoWatch, a leading provider of data confidentiality, integrity and regulatory compliance solutions, announces the opening of an official representative office in the German city of Ingolstadt. The functions of the representative office will include the sales, deployment, maintenance and marketing of InfoWatch solutions on the corporate markets of Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
“The markets of the German-speaking countries are a top priority for us. Those countries are characterized by high levels of information technology and they have firsthand experience of the problems of safeguarding confidential data from insiders,” says Evgeny Preobrazhensky, CEO of InfoWatch. Despite that fact, competitive analysis of the market reveals a distinct lack of effective, integrated solutions capable of defending large enterprises from internal IT threats.
Unlike competitor products, InfoWatch provides a comprehensive approach to the problem of maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of corporate data. The company’s solutions ensure control and audit capabilities over all internal and external communications, including e-mail, Internet services, document-related operations on workstations, printers and removable devices. The range of additional services includes the creation of an internal legal base for the customer, the development or modification of IT security policy, setup in line with business-specific requirements, generation of special content filtration databases, solution installation and maintenance, and staff training. Morph-o-Logic™, a unique linguistic engine can identify the meaning of messages and is much more effective at preventing attempts to leak confidential information than a simple signature-based or digital fingerprinting approach. The sandbox method and integration with office applications completely control operations on workstations. The high-performance corporate e-mail archive InfoWatch *storage makes it possible to carry out retrospective analyses and investigate any IT security incidents. Furthermore, InfoWatch solutions facilitate compliance with national and international normative acts and standards, including the Basel II Accord, the OECD Principles of Corporate Governance, Euroshareholders Corporate Governance Guidelines, the German Corporate Governance Code, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, HIPAA, and GLBA.
The InfoWatch representative office has been established on the basis of Kaspersky Lab’s German office. Over the last few years the German office has demonstrated a high level of professionalism, especially in the sphere of corporate sales, and namely those customers are viewed as potential users of InfoWatch. Andreas Lamm has been named director of InfoWatch DACH. He will combine the position with his role as the head of Kaspersky Lab in the region.
“We see great prospects for InfoWatch’s solutions on the German, Austrian and Swiss markets. Local businesses are most definitely suffering from the effects of insider activity, but the lack of effective solutions means they are unable to protect their data properly,” explains Andreas Lamm. “Businesses need a comprehensive data protection system to help combat those employees who cite arguments about the right to a private life to cover up attempts to exploit corporate resources for their own aims. I’m certain that InfoWatch can cope with this difficult task.”
