For the first time in data leakage prevention (DLP) history a European company – namely InfoWatch, a Russian developer of software to protect confidential corporate data from internal threats – has entered the list of the top 12 leaders on the DLP world market.
According to the research results published by the U.S. analytical company Forrester, InfoWatch offers simple and promising solutions which have already given a good account of themselves in Russia, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
In the report “The Forrester Wave™: Data Leak Prevention, Q2 2008” Forrester conducted software product evaluations of the largest international developers of DLP systems across 74 parameters which were classified into the three categories: current offering, strategy and market presence. The following companies entered the Premier League of the world DLP-market: Code Green Networks, InfoWatch, McAfee, Orchestria, Reconnex, RSA Security, Symantec, Trend Micro, Verdasys, Vericept, Websense and Workshare.
The authoritative analytic company assessed these particular vendors to have the most integral, effective and user-friendly solutions. The general conclusion of Forrester’s research is that the status of DLP systems will soon change from being optional to a must-have solution that has to be integrated into an enterprise’s existing security infrastructure. In the long term, these types of solutions are expected to expand into a global system of information management.
