InfoWatch, the leading European vendor of internal information security solutions, announced today the extension of their encryption product line with an enterprise-grade solution – InfoWatch CryptoStorage Enterprise. The solution provides strong encryption of various objects – separate files, folders, discs, etc. and complements InfoWatch encryption product line of InfoWatch CryptoStorage for end users and InfoWatch CryptoStorage SOHO for small and home office. InfoWatch CryptoStorage Enterprise boosts quick and easy implementation: thanks to integration with Microsoft Active Directory the product enables the application of security policies to users and user groups from the corporate directory. The solution also features centralized remote set up of software clients to all workstations inside the corporate local area network.
According to InfoWatch research, accidental non-intentional data loss accounts for about 40 per cent of all data loss cases. Only in the US about 0.5 Million of laptops per year is lost in various public places. Most of them are corporate laptops containing confidential information. Accidental data loss also includes loss or theft of mass-storage devices or archives, non-intentional data transfer via e-mail or publishing of information to the Internet. Encryption of data proves an effective means to protect information from unauthorized usage in these cases.
InfoWatch CryptoStorage Enterprise provides enterprises (500+ users) with comprehensive cryptographic protection of corporate information from unauthorized use. The product features encryption of separate files and file folders, logical discs (including system and boot sectors) and removable mass-storage devices with modern strong encryption algorithms, creation of specialized protected container-files and user access rights demarcation.
Encryption occurs in the “transparent” mode: when the data is read, it is automatically decrypted in the computer memory, then the data is automatically encrypted during the save operation. InfoWatch CryptoStorage Enterprise provides RAM-contents encryption and protection, for example the Hybernate file, created when the computer is switched to the sleeping mode, or Windows Crash Dump Files, created in case of a fatal error.
The added integration with Microsoft Active Directory allows importing users or user groups from the corporate directory for unified security policies application. InfoWatch CryptoStorage Enterprise software clients can be centrally managed (installed, updated, uninstalled) at all user workstations inside the corporate network using group setup tools.
InfoWatch CryptoStorage Enterprise allows encrypting data, located on a remote machine inside the corporate LAN to create a centralized protected information storage system with hierarchical multi-user access. The product also features permanent data deletion without its possible recovery even with specialized tools. When protected objects (files, etc.) are stored at the remote server, the information is transferred via a specially established protected channel.
Centralized application of information security policies allows defining usage parameters of protected objects for every user, including their network-location, timeslots and allowed actions on them.
InfoWatch CryptoStorage Enterprise supports Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows Vista. More information about InfoWatch CryptoStorage Enterprise
