Natalya Kaspersky, President of InfoWatch Group, took part in the Russian Pavilion opening ceremony at the 38th Gulf’s International Information Technology Expo GITEX 2018, held in Dubai (UAE), together with Alexander Efimov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the United Arab Emirates, Oleg Fomin, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Dubai and Northern Emirates, and Marat Korovaev, Head of ICT Export at the Russian Export Center. At GITEX, the company's flagship DLP product InfoWatch Traffic Monitor became the first Russian solution to obtain Bahrain Technology Award.
Alexander Efimov, Russia’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, highlighted the record-breaking number of Russian high-tech companies attending this year's expo and also expressed confidence that Russian solutions would be highly appreciated and demanded in the Middle Eastern markets.
InfoWatch joined the exposition of Russian IT solutions for the first time and showcased its software products localized for the Middle East and designed to protect organizations against internal and external information security threats.
During GITEX, a hallmark Bahrain Technology Award ceremony took place to praise the best IT companies doing business in the region. An independent IT expert jury highly appreciated InfoWatch’s contribution to the development of Bahrain's secure digital environment, with its DLP system InfoWatch Traffic Monitor (now used in some Bahrain financial organizations) being awarded in the International Recognition category. The prize was organized by Tamkeen, a public authority in Bahrain, and Bahrain Technology Companies Society.
Natalya Kaspersky, President of InfoWatch Group, assured that Arabic countries can count on support from Russian partners when it comes to digital transformation security and new technology adoption in various economic and social areas in the region.
«It is important to not only export products, but also leverage proven solutions to develop digital environment in the partner markets. We are ready to provide our Middle Eastern peers with the solution architecture and source codes of our software products, conduct relevant trainings, and develop new IT and cybersecurity educational initiatives,» said Natalya Kaspersky.
In addition to its software, InfoWatch also showcased at the Russian Export Center’s booth its information technology training programs for government agencies and businesses of the Middle East. During the event, Natalya Kaspersky, President of InfoWatch Group, held a business meeting with Ohoud Ali Shehail, Director General of Ajman Digital Government, and agreed to launch a proof of concept for Ajman Digital Government personnel training based on InfoWatch training programs. Moreover, a partnership with InfoWatch in educational sphere caught the interest of the UAE's leading universities and some of major government organizations.
Over 1,000 expo attendees got a look at and feel for solutions and services of InfoWatch Group at the company’s booth. As a result of the event, InfoWatch Group negotiated with some organizations from UAE and Saudi Arabia for proof-of-concept implementations, and concluded the enhanced cooperation agreements with its current accounts, including the updating of InfoWatch products installed on their sites.
It should be noted that InfoWatch was the first Russian DLP vendor to open a full-service office InfoWatch Gulf in Dubai. In 2018, the company completed 14 InfoWatch implementations for government agencies and large businesses in the Middle East, including six of them in the UAE. The company now serves Dubai Land Department that is in charge of real estate market development in the Emirate. InfoWatch Gulf also develops cooperation with the Central Bank of Bahrain, Prime Minister’s Court of Bahrain, Venture Capital Bank, First Energy Bank B.S.C. (Bahrain), Kuwait Finance House, Petrochem (UAE), and Haward Technology.
