InfoWatch Group, Russian integrated solutions developer for information security of organizations, informs of its launching an international education center “InfoWatch Academy” in the UAE. The center will be operated by the company InfoWatch Gulf, the official representative of the Group in the Middle East that received its license for providing education services on information security in the UAE (License № DMCC-577792 issued by the Government of Dubai). InfoWatch Academy will offer its Middle Eastern customers short-term and medium-term information security training programs and courses as well as specialized trainings on building Information Security systems in organizations using DLP (Data Leak Prevention) class solutions.
The project is aimed at increasing the level of digital competence in the field of information security of specialists and managers at state and commercial organizations of the UAE as well as at educating schoolchildren and students in the region, providing trainings on the basics of cyber literacy. At the moment business terms and conditions are being discussed with the first customers, where Ajman Digital Government Department is one of them.
“The topic of education, especially in the field of information security, is in great demand in the region,” was noted by Kristina Tantsyura, head of InfoWatch Gulf. – “Russian school of Engineering is one of the best in the world. Our task is to export not only our technologies, but also our expertise therefore we are launching an education project in the UAE. The development of InfoWatch Academy will be carried out in partnership with leading Russian and foreign education institutions and high-tech companies. In the future we intend to spread our courses to other countries in the region”.
At present apart from short-term and medium-term education programs, InfoWatch Academy also offers to its customers specialized workshops on information security for public sector officials and top management of private companies. Short-term courses – «Corporate protection from internal threats», «Public key infrastructure as a basis for e-government» – consist of 8-24 academic hours. Medium-term courses – «Incident response and computer crimes investigation», «Cyber security of the crypto industry and blockchain» and a course for children «Digital hygiene & the professions of the future» – consist of 40 to 56 academic hours.
The team of the Academy is working on expanding the range of education products. New programs, including courses on digital hygiene, critical information infrastructure protection, as well as courses on ethical hacking, testing against unauthorized access and reverse engineering will be launched in 2019.
“The department of training and education was launched at InfoWatch 11 years ago. It was aimed at training customers to work with the company’s products and laid the foundation of an educational direction,” was noted by Andrei Zarubin, head of the training department at InfoWatch. – “With each passing year we have expanded and developed this area of our activity. By 2011 we had started to conduct advanced training courses on protection against internal threats of information security and a few years later we launched a full-fledged academic program for training information security professionals in universities. As of today, there are more than 3,500 students and specialists – graduates from InfoWatch education programs, InfoWatch training department has developed new courses and a wide partnership network in the field of education, and we are ready to offer our foreign partners all of our accumulated experience and our technologies that take into account the morphology and features of over 30 languages”.
It should be noted that plans to create InfoWatch international training center for digital technologies and cybersecurity in the Middle East have been announced in 2018.Within the framework of their meeting, Natalya Kaspersky , head of InfoWatch Group , and Ohoud Ali Shehail, General Director of Ajman Digital Government Department, agreed to launch a pilot project to train the staff of Ajman Digital Government Department through InfoWatch training programs.
