InfoWatch, the leading Russian vendor of Data Leakage Prevention solutions, started recently its first sales of InfoWatch CryptoStorage, software aimed to protect data by means of encryption, in Europe. In early November licenses of the product’s version for home users have been sold via InfoWatch partners Plimus (via online in Germany) and Penguin City SA (via retail in Greece).
InfoWatch CryptoStorage is a software for confidential information protection using cryptographic technologies in the process of data storage and processing. The solution allows protecting data stored and processed on a personal computer and local network resources against unauthorized access and ensuring security of information stored and used on laptops and removable media.
Work with the encrypted information is performed in the “transparent” mode. Confidential data are initially encrypted; when reading the encrypted data from the disk, they are automatically decrypted, and during recording, are automatically back encrypted. Access to protected information can be obtained only by its owner, who knows the password. The owner can also grant access to encrypted data to other users.
The product was tested and received warm reception from German IT Administrator magazine eaelier this year which highly ranked product ease of installation and reliable security capabilities.
The next product in turn in a CryptoStorage family is the solution for business customers InfoWatch CryptoStorage Enterprise which will become availableon the European market in early December.
