Several months ago, India’s market saw a notorious insider trading incident. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) discovered that messages about financial performance of twelve companies were shared in private WhatsApp groups before their official release, including data on Tata Motors, the largest automobile manufacturer in India. SEBI asked Tata Motors to conduct an internal audit of its systems and controls and prepare a leak report within three months.

In February, unknown hackers exploited a vulnerability in Kubernetes, a system for managing containerized applications, to access Tesla’s sensitive information such as vehicle telemetry. Furthermore, using advanced hiding techniques, cybercriminals used Tesla’s computing resources to mine cryptocurrency.

U.S. authorities charged three Chinese hackers of using malware to steal information from global corporations, including 407 gigabytes of proprietary data pertaining to Siemens’s energy, technology, and transportation businesses.

De Beers, the world’s biggest diamond producer, hired investigators from KPMG once it suspected at least one employee of selling pricing information to customers before the diamonds were offered for purchase.
