Yahoo sues ex-employee over book

Yahoo has sued a former employee for allegedly feeding confidential information to a journalist who wrote a book about CEO Marissa Mayer published earlier this year, contracostatimes.com reports.

As first reported by Bloomberg News, the lawsuit filed Wednesday in Santa Clara County Superior Court accuses the former employee, Cecile Lal of Cupertino, of breaching her contract and fiduciary duty. It says she gave Carlson access to a password-protected site with confidential information about the company.

The leaked information apparently included Mayer's comments during all-staff "FYI" meetings that happen each Friday in the Sunnyvale company's cafeteria.

Yahoo declined to comment Friday, but said in the lawsuit that the book has done damage to the company.
